Technical Training

Know the requirement. Know how to apply it.

Technical knowledge matters most when you can use it. Our training connects reporting requirements and technical principles to the decisions, calculations and judgements professionals deal with in practice. Learn through scheduled courses, in-house programmes or training built around a specific technical need.

WHERE TO START

What do you need to be able to do?

You do not need to know which course you need. Start with the technical outcome you are looking for and we will take you to the most relevant training option.

  • Understand or apply a technical requirement I need to get from the standard to practical application.
  • Refresh my technical knowledge I need to revisit an area I have not worked with recently.
  • Keep up to date I need to stay current as requirements and reporting expectations change.
  • Meet my CPD requirements I am looking for eligible learning with recognition clearly stated. Link: CPD-eligible course results.
  • Build capability across my team We need a more consistent level of technical knowledge across the team.

WHY W.CONSULTING TECHNICAL TRAINING

Taught by people who work with the subject.

A standard can be explained from a slide. Applying it in a real organisation is different.

Our technical training draws on the experience of specialists who advise organisations on reporting questions and see how requirements operate in practice. That means the learning can address not only what the requirement says, but where judgement is needed, what tends to cause difficulty and how the technical position translates into the work finance teams actually need to do.

Technical depth, with practical application.

WHAT WE TEACH

Technical learning across the reporting landscape.

Technical requirements change, and so does the knowledge finance professionals need to apply them. Our courses cover both established areas and developing requirements, with the emphasis on practical understanding rather than theory alone.

  • 01 IFRS Standards, transactions, accounting treatments and practical application.
  • 02 Sustainability Reporting Developing requirements, disclosure expectations and preparation for reporting.
  • 03 Valuations

HOW YOU CAN TRAIN

Choose the format that fits the need.

Open courses

  • Scheduled sessions for individuals looking to build knowledge, stay current or address a particular technical topic.

In-house programmes

  • Training delivered specifically for your organisation, allowing the content and examples to reflect the needs of your team.

Tailored training

  • Learning designed around a particular knowledge gap, technical requirement or reporting change when an existing course is not quite the right fit.

TRAINING A TEAM?

Build the programme around the work they need to do.

In-house training gives us the opportunity to go beyond a standard course outline.

We can start with the technical requirement, the experience of the people in the room and the way the topic applies in your organisation. Where appropriate, your reporting calendar, processes and examples can help make the learning more relevant.

The objective is not simply to complete the training. It is to leave the team better equipped to apply what they have learned.

Common questions

Answers before you ask.

Do I need prior technical knowledge?

That depends on the course. Each session will state the intended audience and level so you can see whether it is right for you before you book.

Do your courses carry CPD?

Recognition depends on the individual course. Where CPD or other formal recognition applies, it is stated clearly in the course information.

Can you train our whole finance team?

Yes. We offer in-house programmes for organisations that want to build capability across a team rather than book individual places.

Can you tailor the content to our organisation?

Yes. Where an existing course does not address the requirement closely enough, we can discuss training built around your team's knowledge gap, reporting requirements or working environment.

Can you deliver training anywhere in the world?

Yes. W.consulting works internationally from its offices in South Africa, Mauritius and London and we can be onsite or train virtually, depending on your requirements.
